The Best Couples Halloween Costume Ideas for 2018

Halloween is one month away, so it’s time to start planning how you and your boo (get it?!) will dress up. Stumped for a good idea for a couple's costume? Need last-minute inspiration before tonight's party? Check out these creative ideas for couple's costumes in 2018. They're so easy and fun, so there's no reason not to try at least one of them!

Some folks like to go all out with their costumes, while others wait until the last minute to even think about a costume. You can search Pinterest and browse through pop-up costume stores for an idea, but there's more to a great costume than simply donning a witch's hat or police officer's badge. You want your friends to think "why didn't we think of that?" when they see your costume. For that reason, we’ve compiled a list of super fun and easy Halloween costumes for all couples.

Easy Couples Halloween Costumes

These costumes are so easily put together; just grab a few key pieces you may already have in your closet! The DIY efforts are so lowkey that even a newbie crafter can easily get the job done. Dressing up in one of these ideas will have you out the door and onto the fun in no time!

What you need to create this costume:

  • Normal clothes
  • Green construction paper
  • Headband
  • Wire

You could literally wear what you wore to work or school that day. Create a green diamond using construction paper and attach it to a headband. Bonus points if you’re fluent in Simlish.

Dancing Emoji Twins

What you need to create this costume:

  • Black athleisure outfit
  • Black flat-soled shoes
  • Black bunny ears or bows

The dedicated duo will find a pair of black leotards, but any all black outfit works for this one, especially if it’s athleisure. Finish the look with a pair of black bunny ears or bows and black flat-soled shoes.

“Guess Who?” Board Game Characters

What you need to create this costume:

  • Red and blue outfits, respectively
  • White poster board
  • Red and blue paint
  • White paint or white duct tape
  • Additional fun accessories (glasses, hat, mustache etc.)

Choose to dress up like the characters from the game itself, or go as yourselves. One person wears red and the other wears blue, but both need a white question mark on the front. Create a frame for your face out of white poster board and write “Guess Who?” and a name in paint.

Pigs in A Blanket

What you need to create this costume:

  • Pink shirts
  • Pig accessories: ears, nose, tail
  • Your favorite blanket

Possibly the coziest costume of them all. Pair a pink shirt with some pig ears and a nose. Grab your favorite blanket to snuggle close to your partner under all night.

What you need to create this costume:

  • Red shirt
  • Blue shirt
  • White paper, puffy paint or felt

Because it’s what you’d rather do than go to that Halloween party. One person wears a red shirt with “Netflix” spelled out in white paper, puffy paint or felt. The other person wears a blue shirt that says “Chill.” Optional accessories include popcorn for Netflix and gloves or a scarf for Chill.

Funny Couples Halloween Costumes

These require a little more work than the list above, but they’re too funny and clever to ignore. The two of you will bring the fun to the Halloween party with one of these picks.

What you need to create this costume:

For Ralphie:

  • Pink bunny onesie pajamas
  • Pink bunny slippers
  • Black square-framed glasses
  • Optional: Red Ryder BB Gun

For the Leg Lamp:

  • Black shirt
  • Gold skirt or shorts with fringe
  • Fishnet tights
  • Black shoes

If Christmas is more your thing than Halloween is, this is the costume for you. Ralphie wears the notorious pink bunny pajamas with the black squared glasses. The leg lamp costume can be made out of a black shirt, a gold skirt or shorts, and the essential fishnet tights.

Chick Magnet

What you need to create this costume:

  • Yellow outfit
  • Yellow feathers
  • Orange knee high socks
  • Black outfit
  • Red poster board
  • Glue

It’s so punny, it hurts. One person dresses in all yellow with feathers, orange knee-high socks, and possibly a DIY eggshell around the waist to look like a baby chicken. The other is, well, a magnet. Wear black with a magnet shape cut out of red poster board with yellow feathers glue to the ends. You just gotta stick by each other’s side all night.

What you need to create this costume:

For Bob Ross:

  • Blue button-up shirt
  • Jeans
  • Brown curly wig and facial hair
  • Paint palette and brush

For the Happy Little Tree:

  • Green or brown outfit
  • Artificial leaves

Time to get wholesome. The Bob Ross costume consists of a light blue button-up shirt, jeans, brown curly hair, some facial hair and a paint palette and brush. To create the tree, dress in green or brown, then accessorize with artificial leaves in fall colors. You can’t go wrong with this costume because “we don’t make mistakes. We just have happy accidents.”

Double Stuf Oreo

What you need to create this costume:

  • White shirts
  • Black poster board
  • Black felt
  • Scissors
  • Hot glue gun and glue sticks

The ease of wearing a plain white shirt makes up for the DIYing of the cookie piece. Use a hot glue gun to attach black felt pieces to a circle cut out of poster board to create the cookie’s pattern. Become “milk’s favorite cookie” every time you hug your sweetie! If you’ve got a pet, baby or a friend who always third wheels, find them a milk costume.

How will you celebrate Halloween?

Enjoy the spooky holiday doing whatever it is that you two enjoy most, whether it be howling at the moon until sunrise or curling up to watch a horror movie. Just don't forget to eat all the candy.
